Our Leadership
OVP HEALTH’s Acute Care Services division is led by Robert A. Hess, MD, FAAFP, who founded the company with the late Stephen C. Shy, DO, in 1999.
Though Dr. Shy passed away in 2020, his legacy lives on in the company’s Core Values of Family, Community, Quality, and Integrity – as well as in his two sons and daughter, who all serve OVP HEALTH in key leadership positions.
As Chairman and President of OVP HEALTH, Dr. Hess continues to provide strong leadership for the company, particularly in the area of strategic direction.
His son, Jonathan A. Hess, MD, is a practicing emergency physician, Medical Director for the company’s Addiction Services division, and a co-owner of OVP HEALTH..
Dr. Shy’s oldest son, Stephen C. Shy II, DO, is also a co-owner, as well as a practicing emergency physician, and the Medical Director of OVP HEALTH’s Emergency Services division.
Thomas Rittinger, MD, is Medical Director of the Hospitalist Services division, a practicing hospitalist, and was recently named Chief Medical Officer for OVP HEALTH.
Dr. Shy’s youngest son, Stacey Shy, provides day-to-day leadership of the company’s business operations as OVP HEALTH’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Nick Alexander serves OVP HEALTH as the President of its Acute Care Services division.
He provides daily oversight and leadership of operations at all of the company’s partner hospitals.
And Curtis Collins leads the company’s efforts to recruit and retain physicians and other advanced practice providers as Director of Provider Recruitment.
