The OVP HEALTH Recovery Center provides 24-hour/365-day residential care for male, female, and pregnant female patients across Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. It features beds for men and women, including 16 beds dedicated to patients experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms, and needing acute medical detox.

Our team of experienced physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, counselors, case managers, and peer support specialists approach chemical dependency as a primary, progressive, chronic, and potentially fatal disease. However, our team believes the symptoms of this disease can be managed through appropriate therapeutic interventions. Those interventions include both medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and abstinence-based options and are guided by evidence-based, best practices.

At the core of OVP HEALTH’s approach to care and treatment is the belief that counseling, both individual and group, is essential to changing unhealthy behavior and equipping patients with the needed coping mechanisms to deal with life’s stresses, without resorting to drugs and alcohol.

The OVP HEALTH Recovery Center is led by Jonathan A. Hess, MD, OVP HEALTH’s Medical Director of Addiction Services, who is one of only a handful of physicians in the region board certified in both Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine.
